THE LAST STRAW
Working to reduce plastic pollution
Home: Welcome
OUR MISSION
We are a group of local Rhinebeck teenagers starting a movement to curb plastic pollution. We talk to local restaurants and have them sign a contract that they will not give out straws unless requested by the customer. So far we have gained the support of several local restaurants including Aba's Falafel, Samuel's, Beekman Arms, Bread Alone, and Terrapin. Straws are just the beginning! We hope to continue to gain support and eventually move towards eliminating all forms of one use plastics in restaurants. Our group was co founded Stony Brook University student Kellianne Ticcony and Rhinebeck High School students Katie Hall and Marian Decker.
